Readers may now print out any of the novel they want rather than having to read the novel on their screen(s) only.
Including over 500 photographs, this second revised edition of the novel now appears here as two volumes—Volume One is Vancouver Memories: A Certain Attraction and Volume Two is Vancouver Memories: A Certain Commitment.
I have upgraded many of the photographs to more closely match the season, weather conditions, and time of day to that of the setting in the story. The images are intended to create a you-are-here feeling and also to indicate what readers can generally expect to see when they visit a particular place or attend a specific annual event in Vancouver.
The text has been filled out to be more emotionally convincing than what it was when it first appeared in monthly installments on this website. The order of the chapters (diary entries) remains the same, so current readers can continue to read from wherever they are in the story. It may be helpful, however, to reread the last five pages of January #1 to know more about Sandy’s musical past and to understand a significant relationship in his childhood that provides a basis for understanding his original attraction to Erika.?
Invitation to International Colleges
I hope that the language colleges in Vancouver will welcome this novel as revealing the places their international students routinely visit and the activities that many of their students undertake during their time in Vancouver. Feel free to put a link to the novel on your newsletter to indicate these places and activities to your potential incoming students. If you do so, I’d be delighted to hear of your support of the novel.
A curriculum exercise is included as the last item in this introductory material. Individual readers might try the exercise to assess their understanding of the opening chapter, which provides information about Erika’s family life—revealing its supportive nature but also some of its tensions.
The exercise is also a sample of the way Breitling Avenger Replica
Hublot Big Bang King Replica
I hope instructors in Vancouver’s English language schools might use this novel to produce their own lessons relevant to the experiences their students are undergoing as a result of studying in Canada. I would be pleased to help create additional curriculum materials based on the content of the novel or to come into the classroom to discuss the novel.
