As many of you know, some time ago I started writing, and photographing for, this novel that is a fictional account of a group of homestay students living in Vancouver. As one of about eight-dozen of my wonderful international students, from 19 countries, who have stayed with me since 1995, you have helped provide me with the insight to shape these characters and describe their life here. Nevertheless, the characters are from my imagination. While I hope you recognize that the activities the characters engage in correspond with those generally undertaken by international language students during their time in Vancouver, the particular incidences described are intended to be fictitious and should not be attributed to particular individuals. Still, without so many of you, there would be no story.

I hope that even if you are now at quite a different phase of your life, you will be interested in reading Vancouver Memories so it might rekindle pleasant recollections for you and serve as a souvenir of your time here as an international student.
